Flying the 2015 route I did not use the world Flight group flight plans I flew all legs using flight plans generated with FSbuild software. All approaches and departures except for one were smooth. I occasionally had ATC support but rarely. As I did not have scenery for the new airport SEQM I used the old airport SEQU. The approach and landing were normal to rw 35, refueled and off for the next leg to MPTO. I noticed the flight plan made a left turn at the mountains.. Lined up and took off on climb out after a bit the terrain warning came on, it was night so I could not see the mountains the autopilot flew parallel to the mountain with the alarm going on, after climbing past the mountain tops and the alarm going off, “ I thought “that was so stupid” I should have turned away from the mountains climbed to altitude then headed to my next check point. Or made a down wind takeoff away from the mountains. You folks will have ATC so no problem. But it was a real butt clincher for me.
Have fun but stay clear of those mountains …
