My first leg was a night flight to Queenstown no nav aids a visual app. As I came down I could the slope lights but not the runway. No runway or taxi lights WOOPEE. Next after flying the Pacific routes and now going up the west coast of the US from KSEA to PAJN I am flying a RNAV into PAJN , the scenery is great over the mountains down into the valley over the runway a 180 and down to land. Next wake up at Cold Lake where it is snowing like all get out. Takeoff was normal. Now fling the East coast routes , as you would know it, Miami and I and the hurricane all arrived at the same time, I saw my selected runway setting at minimums with a 45 knot wind. I called Miami approach there was a several second pause and the controller said “I am closing up you guys have fun.” Sure, all I saw coming down was white, broke out just as minimums was announced. Great feeling the runway clunk. My next was a misadventure. flying to Kathmandu the RNAV is a real doozy curved approach. You control airspeed on decent. landed. My next leg was to VGHS my FSX scenery did not have that airport so I decided to overfly to the next destination about half way thru this flight my router went south and I had to quit the flight go to Walmart for a new router. I started the flight over I always start cold and dark so it takes a while to get ready to fly. Since I was in a hurry I screwed up by setting the aeroplane on the runway. Not good, there was a south Korean pilot taxing out and sent me a “you cannot do that”
and it went on from there. I took off and about 10 minutes into the flight I got a lecture from a Vatsim supv. I don’t mind the pilots outrage I would do the same but not the vatsim cops please. Guess I have a black mark on my vatsim records now as I work my way to 10000 hours have 300 to go.
So those were a few happening. Overall it was a blast . have fun guys!
Cheers.
