Next to the local VATSIM manuals, I would like to point at these guidelines:

Boys and gals, as a "Hoppie-ACARS-Newbie" I have a question:
Where can I see/check, if - for instance - a CPDLC clearance is available. I suppose that not every ATC Station enroute WF2009 is providing this service?
Cheers
René

Rene...I believe the ATC stations with CPDLC available will say so in their ATIS.

Cheers

This is also suggested in the example:

22:31Z With the boarding and loading of the aircraft well underway, the flight crew estimates that they will push back around 23:00Z and starts departure preparation. They record the ATIS and monitor the clearance delivery and ground controllers to get a feel of current operations at the airport. The F/O uses ACARS to request a company dispatch release and current weather reports for the departure airport and some places in the vicinity. He notices that the ATIS advertises the availability of ACARS pre-departure clearance (PDC):
PDC via ACARS YSSY
and requests one.

The full tracking system is now online. All known WF2009 call signs have a persistant ADS-C contract, which means that as soon as they appear on ACARS, the system will send them a report request and the planes will automagically report position every two minutes.

Using the tricks described at http://www.hoppie.nl/acars/system/embed.html every participant can display all WorldFlight planes on his/her own web site.

If you want to participate in WF2009 using ACARS, just reply to this posting and announce your call sign.

Fixed!

If you see a chance to ever drive over with a bus again, we now have a 6-year old daughter that would love it

Wilco !!!
Six years yet ? Times are running fast.

Two weeks ago I met an old buddy after 33 years and I ever had his face from 1979 in my brain.

Surprising me:

He is getting old too !!!

:D

Best wishes

Steffen

For a logon code, just mail me hoppie@hoppie.nl (I need your mail address).
I will also add your callsign to the pool so it gets preferred treatment from the mapping software on http://www.hoppie.nl/acars/system/wfmap.html

Hi from the flightdeck of FLY737:

Hoppie, if we put our ETA into the ACARS "0315", it shows only "315" and in the Progress Board:
http://www.fly737.com/737.php?id=123
"31:5" shows up.

How should we enter the leading "0" Zero?

Cheers and enjoy the onboard menue
René
